Quick Answer

Reed diffusers are a flame-free way to enjoy continuous fragrance in your home. They use natural or synthetic reeds to draw scented oil from a container, releasing the aroma into the air for weeks at a time.

Reed Diffuser FAQs – Flame-Free Home Fragrance

Here’s everything you need to know about making and using reed diffusers, from choosing the right base oil to maximizing scent throw in your home or office.

What is the best base for reed diffusers?

Our professional reed diffuser base is specially formulated for optimal scent dispersion and is compatible with most fragrance oils.

How much fragrance oil should I add?

A typical ratio is 20–30% fragrance oil to 70–80% diffuser base, but this can vary based on fragrance strength and desired intensity.

How long do reed diffusers last?

Depending on room size and airflow, a 4–6 oz diffuser can last 2–4 months. If using rattan reed sticks, flip the reeds every 1–2 weeks for a scent refresh.

What kind of reeds should I use?

Use fiber diffuser sticks for the best capillary action and scent throw. Fiber reeds do not need to be flipped.

Can I color reed diffuser liquid?

Oil-soluble dyes, such as our liquid candle dyes,  can be used if desired.
